Not a suprise. It's saving the files with a different extension. You have to "save AS" and pick Word 2003. Then you'll be fine.

Hi there :) Really easy task, Sir/Ma'am.

When you are typing your document, and are done, do the following:

1. Go to the "Save as" menu

2. There are 2 drop-down boxes above the "save" button, click the "save as type" option

3. Select "Word 97-2003 document"

4. Save

Note: Any features that are unique to MS 2007 will not operate in older versions

Thanks for your time :)

I've upgraded and haven't had a problem opening older documents. However, if you created documents using the Beta version of Office 2007, then you won't be able to open it. You can download the document conversion software from Microsoft for free.
