I want to share Him with you. The Bible says we are to spread the gospel, which I try to do with everyone I meet. I want everyone to know what He's done for me.

Most people are public about some personal aspect in their lives. Some kiss, or hold hands in public, some have pink hair, several tattoos or piercings, some wear shirts with sayings they identify with, etc. If you are proud of something and happy to be a part of it, you will naturally share it with the public in some way. I am sorry if you are offended by those of us who love God. Perhaps you have been approached or accosted too strongly, don't let what others do in pride and self righteousness turn you away from your personal happiness, if in fact you are happy. If not, go somewhere secret (since you do not like public) and try asking God some of your questions.

It is ok to be public about your faith because he is your personal savior but not your private savior.

Despite being directed to only pray privately, most Christians can't pass up the opportunity to make a display of it. The Bible has a sin for that - it's called "pride":
Matthew 6:5-6: "And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men....***when thou prayest, enter into thy closet and when thou has shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret***...."

Because he specifically told his followers to be preachers of the Word.--Matthew 28:19, 20 Plus, we are expected to live our faith, to practice it, not hide it.
If such things annoy you, don't watch it on TV, and, out in public keep away from them--although it's really not to your advantage to do so.

because He wants YOU to accept Him as Lord and Savior. how can you do that if you don't know that? and if atheism is your PERSONAL belief, why are you impressing it upon ME?
