Intestinal enteritidis caused by salmonella (ie salmonella food poisoning) should clear up in approximately 72 hours (3-4 days). From what you have said, you may have a Salmonella infection, which is more serious.
I don't know whether it affects diabetics in other ways, but you need to drink lots of water, and try to eat - toast is usually good. Energy drinks are also very good. If you have any multivitamins, I recommend taking twice the stated dose - it has been shown that when infected, taking twice the RDA has benifical effects. Since you have diahroea, lay off the orange juice.
If in any doubt, or the symptoms get worse, go to an ER.

Go to the emergency room.
Diarrhea for almost a week will throw off your electrolytes and fluid levels.
If you think it's salmonella, they you should be in the emergency room. Salmonella is a case that should reported and followed by local health agencies. Lately there has been problems with Peter Pan peanut butter and Salmonella, you might want to check in if Peter Pan and Great Value share the same facility and have the same lot numbers as suspected.
And your diabetes complicates the matter too.

Yes, Salmonella can last longer then 7 days. My son just got out of the hospital today and they said to expect the symptoms to last about 10 days...this includes the diarrhea, fever, cramping, etc...
I would imagine that if you continued to eat the pb, you would continue to have symptoms. How long have you had symptoms since you've stopped eating the pb?
I would definitley go see your doctor, especially with your diabeties. Good luck!

if you ate the peanut butter 3 weeks ago, you wouldnt be having problems now......unless you've been having them for 3 weeks and i'm not reading the question right? And I've never heard of salmonella lasting for more than 1 week, nevermind three. there has to be some other problem. I hope you get well soon, its no fun to be so ill for so long.

i have suffered from salomonella (untreated) for about a month...i used a fork to lift a raw chicken and thought i put the fork in the sink. i didn't and used that fork during dinner and got so sick that I was running to the b.r. during every class and pepto-bismal wasn't working at all! i used about 3-4 bottles. towards the end of the month, i went to see my doctor and he had wanted a certain "sample" from me. he got the results back and i did have salomnella but at that point in time, i had gotten over the worst part of it
