Need info on 2001 Ford Windstar Transmission. Mechanical aspect.?

2001 Ford Windstar automatic, When you put gearshift in any position the van will only go in reverse.

either the lever position sensor is bad or the transmission is toast. Get it diagnosed at a dealer.

If it goes in reverse in any position...even park and neutral..then yes mlp..manual lever position sensor...if goes in reverse in any forward or reverse gear selection...then likely internal..take to dealer or trans shop.
