No. This is a very controversal question and we can sit here and talk all about it,...... all night, not even the heads of our goverment have come up with a definite desision nor a great solution. Nevertheless, US would be doomed without immigrants, reason why is, this people move here and start working minimum wage jobs and and dont have much choices (languge). These people work jobs like dishwasher, construction, cleaning the sewage, garbage pick ups, farm fields...etc, jobs that you my friend and i will never do.

However i do not agree with illegal immigrants, because they work here, make the money, dont pay taxes and move back to their country. This is capital outflow(taking the US dollar and not investing in USA) The goverment needs to do something about this and I think reinforcing the border is a start, in the same time this would minimize drug trafficing.

Something like giving work permits and resident permits is somewhat in the works. By doing this all the illegal immigrants will have to pay taxes. The ones that will be given permits will be the ones that prove that have been in america for at least 5 years. To get a permit one must pay taxes and that means for the past 5 years. Lets assume that a worker pays about $4000.00 a year in taxes(which is pretty low). This $4000 times 5 years = $20000.00
There are an estimated 13 million immigrants in america, and if they all get permits they must pay taxes,... so
$20000.00x 13 million= $260 billion
Thats a lot of money!!!! US benefits from this in many ways, so i am sure that something will happen. After illegal immigrants get permits reinforce very strict very harsh fines for employeers that hire illegal immigrants.

Besides all this, lets not forget that, this is how America was build,......by immigrants. My parents moved here from Albania. AMERICA IS A MELTING POT!!

Congress can solve the illegal immigration problem but is unwilling!
Congress has the constitutional power to create lesser courts. All it has to do is pass a law empowering all courts lesser than the Supreme court with legal authority to determine whether any person brought before them can give a reasonable account of legal citizenship in the US. If they cannot, such courts could fine them return fare back to their third world hell holes. These courts should suffice for due process. Appeals could be made from abroard. We are at war! Desperate times call for desperate action; especially where it is clear foreign govt.'s are complicit, etc. This kind of action can be taken. It just hasn't because most of congress is corruptly influenced not to do it by big business who pays big bucks into their re-election campaigns. IT'S THE MONEY STUPID!

Here's my idea of a solution:

Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the border. When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq. Tell him if he wants to come to America, then he must serve a tour in the military. Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it. After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country. He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot. This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq, and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves. If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo. Problem solved.

Why would we just invade a country with waaaaay less resources than we have? Keeping people from immigrating is not a good reason for war. Could the "immigration debate" be fear that Hispanics are now the largest minority group in American? Could it be fear that one day, minorities will outnumber whites? I think you should consider these questions before you form your opinion on immigration.

and that's all that will happen is talk, the politicians will make illegal immigration an issue to get elected, you all will vote for that moron, who is lying just to get elected. then not do anything but harass interns, play golf, live off our taxes, and the sad thing is, you all will be back here complaining about some other government official and their inability to act on what they were elected for. wake up smell the coffee, if nobody in america voted, the morons cant get elected, boycott the elections. write in a vote for bugs bunny and see what happens to the government. maybe then the government officials will listen.

We don't have to invade Mexico, most of their soon to be fighters already live illegally on U.S. Soil, what we need to do is round them up and send them back. If our Government won't enforce our current laws regarding illegal aliens, they will force the people of this land to do it themselves. Lets just hope our Government opens their eyes and sees our sincerity regarding this issue, before it comes to that.

The whole point is that we don't want to have to educate all of Mexico's poor and deal with Mexico's crime. With all respect to the better elements Mexico certainly has, we don't want to make their issues our own.

It is not worth invading. It is a cesspool. Why do you think people are leaving?
