glucose based sugars do illicit the highest insulin response (GI of 100) but at that dosage 3 grams, that only 12 calories barely worth counting. no problems with a dosage that small

Glucose is a vital simple sugar that is necessary for cell's to function.
It's simply energy for your body, in the best form. Caffeine and all the other crap in energy drinks are just drugs.
Glucose can only be bad for you if you were consuming mountains of it. Fructose (common sugar as opposed to "chemical" sugars) can be bad for you in excessive amounts, which is what people are concerned about with obesity.
They're all inter-related, but you're not consuming so much glucose to give you health problems provided that you have a healthy diet and regular amounts of exercise.
Don't fear glucose so much.

Glucose is a fancy word for sugar.... "Fattening" in the term that you are using it? yes, very much so. The amount in that Rockstar you're looking at? No, nothing to worry about. It only has 20 calories in the entire can. It's actually used by many bodybuilders during cutting season for it's vitamin content.

Glucose is sugar so it follows that if sugar is fattening so is glucose. Check a PDR or a Merck manual (this is inexpensive and can usually be found in book stores). Look under glucose, blood sugar or diabetes and it will tell you glucose is a sugar.

Glucose is another form of sugar, it is not great for the body, but everything in moderation. It is not fattening per say, but eventually turns into fat if not burned off.
