im tryin 2 lose some fat on the stairclumber but how u no when ur burning muscle not fat?

when active the body is always metabolizing substrates from stored proteins (amino acids scavenged from muscle) stored glucose (muscle and liver glycogen) and free fatty acids.

the type of duration of exercise determines if energy is mainly derived from glucose or free fatty acids. if training at a high level of intensity you wouldn't want to exercise longer than 1.5 hours straight. if at a low level of intensity no more than 2.5 hours.

more exercise definetly isn't better as with most things quality beats quantity.

In most cases you fell aserious burning in the area. The main reason you burn muscle is when you dont eat. You know whenthis is happening when you suddenly fell fatigued and maybe full. Like you ate alot.
