how can i adjust the brightness in the BS Media Player?

the video seems dark when i try to watch something. i went under color control and tried to adjust it but nothing happened. is there some sort of codec i need?

Open wmp.Click on view,click enhanchments,click video setting's.Brightness and all are there.
