There are many suggestions about finishing basements what insulation to use, lighting, flooring, etc. but what about those nasty spiders? I'm not talking about the little ones but those huge wolf spiders.

You can spray a product called "Bug Stop" either inside or out. It worked for me!

We used to bomb our basement twice a year and it seemed to work very well with keeping spiders out!!

You may not like them, but spiders are your friends - they will roam around at night and keep all kinds of other bugs under control for you. They are shy and not harmful at all. If you think there are just too many, catch one in a container from time to time, and place it outside. Please don't hurt the little creatures!
