OK I joined this group to find this answer to this dilemma....I messed
with a guy who has now become my landlord...I avoided him like the
plague after he became my landlord to avoid any complications...he
showed up to my apt unexpectedly to me to "view it" after someone on
another floor called him to fix something with the boiler or
whatever....we ended up messing around...he had already lowered my
rent 100 bucks at the beginning...now I'm wondering should I pay him
rent...I have no lease with him...its after the first of the
month...he hasn't asked me for the money? Should I wait and see if he
asks and should I be obligated to pay a guy I'm messing with?...I
tried to avoid this situation from happening now I need to know what
to do...advice from guys is helpful too.

I am going to tell you what I think and you may not like it but here it is.
In my opinion if you messed around with him before he became your landlord and you were so disturbed by it..why did you mess around with him again??? I think you didn't like sleeping with him or messing around with him (whichever one) but I think in a way you kind of liked it also because now that you did it again you are wondering if you should even pay rent. If you were really concerned and worried about it you would pay him the full rent and not 100 dollars or not paying him at all and stop messing with your landlord and then the problem would be solved.

ahhh it already is a mess...hmmm well, I'd say pay rent. second, begin to look for a diff apt. u don't need to stay there. it's not ok for him to mess up with u. if he doesn't want u to pay rent I think u'd be like a prostitute to him...is that what u want? I don't think so, sooooo betta get out of that apt. If he wants something serious, then he should marry u! then u don't need to pay rent only but he should take care of u!

Yes, pay your rent, and be sure to get a reciept. (always) Even though your messing with him, and he's shown favortism....you are taking the chance of being evicted if he was to ever get pissed off. And yes...your obligated to pay him, you did rent the place....
So...the reciept is your back up as payment made. Even if he still gives you the discount, take it with a smile....but pay up. Its called CYA.....Cover Yo ***........And ohh yeah, make sure the reciept says.."Rent for month XXXXX" on it.....
Don't trust people that you are "messing with", sometimes it comes with a strings attached...

probly good idea to start looking for a new place unless your going to keep fooling around with him it could get really bad if you stay.... And yes pay him your rent like you would normaly just looks bad if you didn't you know what I mean. SEX FOR GIFTS not good.

Since you signed no lease, now would be a good time to look for a new place to live. Then, be more choosy about your bedmates.
