a departed police officers shield on your person for their Beloved Memory? I see many non-police have hats in their car on their dash board that read, POLICE. I see many people wear shirts, jackets, and other apparel with jeans and stuff that read POLICE. Well, my dear Uncle Joe was an Officer for many, many years, and when he died, his wife gave me his badge to keep his memory. I like to have it on my person (no one can see it publicly). I have NEVER shown it to act like I was impersonating an Officer, I have NEVER purported to anyone that I was an Officer, and I have NEVER acted or tried to act like an Officer, but on a routine traffic stop, while opening my PRIVATE wallet, an Officer saw a glimpse of it, and he reached in my car, and grabbed my wallet, and arrested me for impersonating an Officer.
Apparently he felt later he didn't have a case, since he returned it to me after DETAINING ME ALL AFTERNOON and handcuffing me, and jailing me. Where's the Judge & Jury?

I knew there was more to the story then you posted last time.Like I said in your last post, he had a reason and the badge was it. Are you a cop? No. Then you do not belong carrying a badge. Period. Leave it at home. A police badge is a symbol of great power. You may be 100% honest and decent, but the cop does not know that. You are carrying something that says you are something you are not. Your rational is like saying I know I have a illegal gun, but I never show it, never pull it out, never shoot anyone so why can't I carry it? You can't.In most states (like NY) Just possessing a police sheild is illegal and so is many of the other things you describe.Security guards can't have police like sheilds (hence the Square badge insult) I am sure you had no intention of doing anything wrong, but the cop does not know that. He actually did you a favor. It had nothing to do with having a case. If he wanted to, he'd charge you and run you through the system and you could spend thousands defending yourself. Most likely you could have been charged and most likely, after checking you out and/or out of respect for your relative, cut you loose. He may have also confered with supervisors and probably the DA and they decided that you where no threat and prosecution was not warranted. That happens all the time. They declined prosecution. Thats is their right. Be grateful.
You can de detained while an investigation is ongoing. Thats is what he was doing. You have a badge. You are not a cop. He is making sure you haven't been pulling people over, commiting crimes etc etc. It ahppens. Hence my whole badge has power statement. People see it and trust that ONLY those entitled to have it have it and obey those who carry it, often without question. Criminals exploit that sometimes. You obviously had pure motives and that is why, after an investigation, you were released. I would suggest NOT carrying it again. Leave it on a shelf.
Better yet, go to have a "mini tin" made. That is legal and nobody will mistake it for a real badge. You can even have a little wallet for it or place it on a key fob. It may actually get you out of tickets and not into cuffs like a real badge will again someday.

Imagine this. You are walking down the street and Joe Chitbag and his buddies decide you are the prey. They rob you at knife point. You are an unarmed civilian....but you are carrying a fricken badge!....the bad guys kill your dumb a** thinking your a cop. Not so cool to be carrying that badge now is it....but hey at least your family will be able to pass it on to your children in your memory!

If you are not a cop then stop carrying that badge. It will do nothing but get you in trouble. You would think you would have learned that lesson from your prior dealings with the last cop.

All cops I know will NOT carry a badge unless they are carrying a gun with them.

You are asking for trouble by doing so. Leave the badge at home in a nice framed shadowbox.

Ah, republicans at their perfect, maximum besides. i'm particular there are those who won't be able to face what this administration has and is doing, i visit't paint all of them as deaf, dumb and blind. the flexibility contained in the GOP is i'm particular serious about the bailout of economic establishments. the bottom rationalizes it away by technique of affirming in case you do not keep the organization inspect what number of human beings it is going to impact. wager what, look on the quantity of people they have already affected negatively. because the organization's undesirable organization practices are printed, the inventory drops and the organization lays off human beings besides. For those blaming the democratic congress, enable me remind you the dems administration the living house in reality. The senate is chop up and the president nonetheless has his veto pen. So how have democrats created this mess? the position is the republican responsibility I particularly have heard a lot about for decades?

sadly he had both legal and ethical reasons to detain you. you shouldn't have been carrying a police badge on a constant basis. you could [doesn't mean you do] be using the badge improperly so the officer did what they could to ensure that you weren't/don't. i can't blame him. now i don't think you did anything technically wrong i would stop carrying it around with you just so you don't raise questions.

Yes, you can carry a badge. You can imitate or cause action to lead others to believe you are law enforcement (flashing the badge when you open the wallet).
Why are you so angry?
