Both are Korean Karate cousins and contain lots of kicking techniques. Tang Soo Do has more open hand techniques then Tae Kwon Do.
Basically the same except the forms are different.
A brown in TKD and a 1st dan from American TSD and 2nd from USTSD with some 15 years in the Korean styles alone.

Tang soo do is an older more well rounded art, it uses more hand techniques than tae kwon do. The kata are different also.
Tang soo do is in my opinion the better street fighting style, while tae kwon do is for sports.

I agree with everyone who posted answers on this question. TSD is more hand techniques while TKD emphsizes kicking. (I'm a 1st dan black belt in TKD and I advanced to brown belt in TSD.)
