Technically they are a fruit because they use seeds to reproduce. They are cucumbers that are pickled in a brine or solution. So essentially you are eating small cucumbers.

If you consider a cucumber a vegetable, then it is a vegetable, if you think a cucumber is a fruit, then it is a fruit. Technically, a cucumber is a fruit but I have a hard time accepting this.

well they are a fruit because they have seeds. cucumbers are fruits, and pickles are pickled cucumbers.

They are a fruit, but eatten as a vegetable (because people put cucumbers in salads, etc...)... but anything with seeds in it is genetically classified as a fruit.
