I agree with Toplesbab. It sounds worse than it actually is. You may have some discomfort for a few days but it's not that bad. DDS will give you a script for some pain meds to take with you to fill if you need to. Make sure you have some sort of ice pack or bag (peas, corn), Advil for after, and soft food stocked in the fridge. Yogurt, scrambled eggs, fish, pasta, ice cream, pudding, replacement shakes. You won't feel like going later, mistake I made. No straws or smoking for a while, anything creating suction. Also something good to know, if you're just having a local (shot of anesthetic in the mouth) make sure you eat well before. You'll be on liquids for the rest of the day, you'll be starving later if you don't. These are only my suggestions, always follow what the DDS tells you to do.

It sounds like you are having periodontal surgury. They will make an incision in the gums following the contour of your teeth. They will use an instrument to gently peel the gums away from the bone it is attached to. Then they will trim the extra gum tissue to the right lenght. Generally you willhave one suture between each tooth worked on, and then they will cover the area will a pink gummy type "band-aid" that will stay on for a few days to keep the area safe. Good luck.

well hard to say cause i dont know what kind of shape those front teeth are in, and why you are losing them, but for the most part, front teeth are simple extractions since they have one root that is conical, so they come out without flaps, if they need to flap they cut and then pull them away (kinda like peeling an orange), and once they have all the teeth out they suture the tissues back in place. my guess you wont need a flap

You really need to ask your dentist/periodontist that question. It depends on the condition of your gums. I know when they are scaling, they pull and may cut. It just depends on how bad it is.

they will probably cut them but its not as bad as it seems they will sew the back loosely but your mouth is one of the fastest growing thing it will grow back to the way they have it sculpted in with in a month you won't even remember it was done.
