Unlike one of the people above, I think it is important to reason before you can believe something. When people say Jesus saves or our God is the only one and others are fakes, they have not proven anything to you. I could claim that George Washington is God and all others are fakes, but unless you can prove this as likely right through reasoning, you cannot believe. You can brainwash yourself to believe it, or pretend you believe it, but there is no support (other than scriptures). Hence, quoting the Bible isn't valid because it wasn't written by God but by human interpretation and experience.
I am personally a religious man, but I think it's important to contemplate God and try and experience Him through prayer and/or meditation. We should strive to search for God and not claim to know Him until we have enough evidence. Think about what certain scriptures say and reason if what they claim is indeed possible in our universe and if it explains God, time, and existence in a reasonable way. A religious explanation needs to direct to justice, harmony, and scientific validity.
People also seem to feel that my God is different from there's because He has a different name and certain different attributes. But so long as humans provide the religious knowledge to the masses and not God himself, it is impossible to say that our Gods are not one and the same. Humans interpret things based on upbringing and cultural bias, something that most people agree does not apply to God. So we must also remember that our personal perceptions of God are changed by our very personalities.

Christianity is the oldest longest lasting religion if you include Judaism with it. But more than that, God revealed to many of us that Jesus is his son and he wants us to accept him as our leader, and savior. You should want to choose the God of all creation because he is the only actual God that created everything you see, and deep down I believe most us know there is one God. So I would certainly encourage you to pray and read the Bible and ask God to reveal his truth to you and if you have the faith he will do exactly that.

First, just a matter of faith. Hard to reason with faith. Go to a church service and if it moves you, follow it. Go to a synogogue or mosque and if that moves you, follow that. Faith is a gut feeling, but a true reason.
Christianity has the benefit of being prominent and mainstream in most countries, and varied to give you lots of choices in how to worship.

Because believing in statues made by man, or worshipping cows, or other men with ulterior motives (jim jones', heavens gate, charles manson, sun yung moon, david koresch, and hundreds of other useless ideologies unthought of), all have one thing in common: except manson who's still in jail, they're all DEAD! If not physically, then spiritually. I'm not gonna go on a diatribe, but I definately know and feel Jesus within my spirit and heart. If you can't--then you're DEAD also in spirit. Jesus said it, I believe it, and that settles it!

Whichever God offers the best snacks, go with that one. True, Jesus offers wine and wafers, but Neptune offers the bounty of the sea, while you should go with Osiris if you are into hummus.
Ultimately, the choice lies with you.

In all major religions, the followers strive to rid themselves of sin through various practices. They may pray in a prescribed way, do various good works, deny themselves legitimate sexual pleasure, follow dietary restrictions, lie on beds of nails, etc. The uniqueness of Jesus is shown in His statement, "The Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins." No other religious leader has ever made this claim. Jesus Christ alone can wash away every sin anyone has ever committed, be-cause of what He did on the cross. By paying the penalty for our sin, He can release us from the torture of guilt. We cannot do anything in the way of religious works to wash away our sins. Forgiveness is a free gift of God (Ephesians 2:8,9).

Because the Bible says so and the bible is the word of god.
How do you know it's the word of god? The bible says so...and it is the word of god, afterall.
I just love that Fundie circular reasoning.
