Candy and soda are not the only culprits -- -- -- cut out all pasta & bread & drink only fat free milk, stick to meat & vegetables and fruit, but be hopeful, you might be a growth spurt away from a proper height for your weight , hone up on stretching exercises and increase your swimming.
Peace....

Hi Roxy, I know you may have concerns about how you look right now, being 12 yrs old you are coming to that age where these concerns can weigh pretty heavily on a young girls' mind. The truth is Roxy, you still have some physical growing to do and right now I don't think cutting nutrients out of your diet may be the wisest thing for you. The last thing you want to do right now is hurt yourself by denying your body nutrients you may need. You are still at that age where everything you take in may greatly affect your outcome in the future....and if you deny yourself now, you may find later on in life that it was detrimental to your health. If I were you I would develop a sensible meal plan that gives you the nutrients your body needs but is sensible in that you are not taking in useless calories. Its important that you keep up with your physical activities regardless, this will only help you mentally and will encourage a "can-do" attitude in the future should weight become a concern. Drop all the treats and sodas and replace with water and fruits for now. Most importantly, remember this.....you are young.....you still have a lot of growth changes on the way.....only you can love yourself and disregard what others think (and more importantly) what YOU think others think. I say this with importance, its important that you learn that weight problems are not just a matter of pounds and ounces, but in many cases becomes a mental problem. You must learn to change your thinking, accept yourself for who you are and be happy!!! When you turn 35 and you feel like you have a weight problem then we'll talk ;-) Keep on enjoying being 12, how I wish I could say the same...take care

The food has nothing to do with you shape and the weight either. If you want to be a coca cola shape do alot of sit ups. For to make you hips noticeable lie on your side and lift your legs up and down this will shape you perfectly. For you arms a little muscle will do so get some single arm weights. For you chest try girlie push ups.

You did not say how tall you are so answering this question is difficult. No matter what start by talking to your "PCP" about getting a "Body Mass Index" assessment and then talk to a nutritionist about a SENSIBLE DIET THAT YOU CAN LIVE WITH and follow it very strictly.

How tall are you? I'm 5 ft 4.5 inches and I weigh the same as you, and I'm not overweight. And even if you're shorter, you will grow and get leaner. Be patient! Keep exercising and eating right and when you're a teen, you'll be healthy and gorgeous.
