I applied for a JC Penney card accidentally online, but then realized I already had that particular card, but the thing is is my credit is not as good as it was when I signed up originally and I'm SURE I won't get approved, will this affect my original card/accout? In other words, will my denial for the second card cause my original account to be cancelled due to current credit issues?

Very unlikely. If you are declined, you will probably just get a notice stating you were declined either due to poor credit score or because you already have an account with them, maybe both reasons.

You will most likely be denied, however, useually a credit card isn't cancelled because the more you ignore rectifying debts, the more debt incurs and therefore the company makes even more money or stands to in the long run, though your card could be siezed if you were to try and use it.
