...when he can't even get over me?
My best friend (for a few years) and I have recently fallen head over heels for each other - we were not expecting this at all - we truly care and adore each other but we decided that right now is not a good time in our lives to have that serious relationships we long from each other. We're still great friends but i'll notice he'll do certain things that give it away:
- put his hand on my thigh
- when there's light physical contact, he holds my hand
- when he hugs me, it's tight and close
- he gives me a kiss on the hand (though he's tempted to really kiss me)
- says, "maaaaan, you should be getting over me...this isn't helping...it's a slow process to get over you..."
- tries to fish for answers about other guys if i'm interested in them or not
- he'll randomly just give me that look and smile at me, and look away
Why does he want me to get over him if he still likes me?

Maybe he truly believes this isn't a good time for the two of you to get together or is worried that if something went wrong he would lose your friendship. It could be that as close as you are and as much as he likes you that he still sees a reason the two of you would not be happy together or last as a couple. It is difficult sometimes to be in a situation like this but if you really value his friendship you will respect his wishes and try to understand.

Hi Dreamer... I guess I m really the right person to answer this answer for him.
As u know. It is very hard for me to get over her... and make her go out of my mind unless i lost my memory.
The only thing that can make me get over her is SHE TELL ME STRAIGHT that she dont like me and dont bother her again.
He just dont not want to be the ruthless one and he wish you to push him away. IT is not that he do not love or like you anymore. Similar to you. He just want to move on without having this worries in mind. :(
Perhaps we both share the same feeling that without a foundation, we both dare not start any relationship and it will be a very short term. The worst thing that he and i feel is We want ALL THE BEST for our partner. (Like i say - Our selflessness is yours selfishness.)
Same as me... I really hope she sorta "give me a kick" and even hope she is vanish forever. We enjoy this feeling but cant stand the suffering that we cant filful what we want NOW for the other.

He wants what is best for u and him. Maybe he just doesnt want a relationship now and he doesnt want to see you hurt too. If he really cares then that is why.

He is an idiot but he knows him better than you do so if he says you should get over him, listen to him and do it.
