He's been bad since this morning and all the local vet offices are closed until monday. I'd love to have some piece of mind until then. Both of his front legs are bowing outward at his wrists as he tries to sit or stand. The legs then quiver as he tries to shift the weight back and forth and not collapse. It didn't seem that bad before, but its to the point where he can't seem to sit or stand comfortably. Being a puppy, I can't get him to relax and take it easy, so he's making it worse by running around and jumping. He doesn't seem to be in pain, but is obviously uncomfortable. He's a 3 month old lab/retriever that I got from a rescue 5 days ago. They didn't notice a problem before and don't know of any injury. Is there an actual vet out there that can tell me something to ease my mind?

Knuckling over can be caused by a number of things. It can be caused by poor diet. Or there could be a problem in the spine. There are different kinds of knuckling over. It's slang for a couple of problems as well, at least at my vet.
You need to get him to a vet as soon as possible.
Check out this website if you want: http://www.greatdanelady.com/articles/knuckling_over.htm
PS
Don't freak out. This does not sound like Parvovirus at all.
Parvo is characterized by lethargy, bloody vomit, bloody diarrhea, and severe dehydration.

I am a veterinary technician and I have ben working in clinics for 8 years. You need to make sure that your puppy is breathing well, eating and drinking, and not vomiting. If all of these things are normal, you are probably okay to wait until Monday if you have to. You must keep him quiet, so lock him in a small room or put him in his crate (if you have one). Make sure he has food and water available. Puppys do not usually show pain, especially labradors, they are far too happy and excited. I have seen them running around with broken pelvises and brokn ribs before (not that this is what your puppy has).
Someone else stated that this might be parvo. If your dog is 5 months old, and you got him from a rescue, he has been vaccinated for this virus most likely. They vaccinate for it when they are very young. Also, this virus causes vomiting and diarrhea, and has nothing to do with the legs.

Even if your vet is closed, they will have an after hours, on-call number you can call and talk to your vet. They will even meet you at the clinic if need be.
That is really the only option you have, unless you want your pup to get worse.
No one here knows your dog, or can see your dog. Therefor cannot give acurate information on what could be going on, just some best guesses, and your pup deserves more than a best guess from some stranger online.
Please call your vet.

I am not a vet but i am a animal lover. Are there any emergency clinics in your area? Look through your phonebook. Even vets with regular office hours will sometimes list a number for emergencies. You need to get in touch with a vet somehow. A good vet will be willing to check your pet out. If he/she gets all snippy about it they dont deserve to be a vet.
Find someway of getting in touch with a vet, even if you have to drive far or go to a vet thats not your regular one.
if you cant find a vet thats open, call your local animal rescue center/humane society. They might be able to help you locate one.

most vet offices have an emergency number. if you get a recording when you call their office, listen to it. the number will generally be given out on the answering machine. otherwise, check the yellow pages to see if there are any vets that offer emergency services in your area. you could also try to call the rescue organization you got your puppy from. best of luck, hun!

Doesn't sound like parvo, but does sound serious, good luck with it. My pit got parvo from the neighbors yard and almost died, he couldn't even lift his head, thats how bad it was, barely breathing, i had to squirt pedialite and baby food down his throat every hour on the hour for 3 days straight! Finally he pulled out of it! So I don't THINK its parvo. Im not a vet though.

If there's no vet around, you could try this website. Maybe they could help.

ALMOST ALL VETS HAVE EMERGENCY AND AFTER HOURS NUMBERS. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR YOU BEING ON THIS COMPUTER WHILE YOUR PUP IS SICK.
