This is the school im planning on joining, does it look good to you? When i went for a free first class, it was harder than i expected, maybe its cause im 12 and the school is mainly adults, but we had o do a lot of physically demanding stuff, and when it came to doing forms, the master there, would actually help us with the forms, do you think this is a school worth going to? ($70 a month for 2 2 hour classes)

actually, i wanted to join a class with a lot of adults solely so they dont go easy on the training. I once took a karate thing for kids, and we did things like tag with these giant ball things. Weird stuff. Also, i am new to martial arts other than a month of karate

Dude, two 2 hour classes I'm assuming a week...?
At $70 a month thats $840 a year.
Find a club that is open at least 5 days a week and allows you to train as often as you like. My Judo dojo is $350 a year for 5-18yo and $550 a year for 18 and up and if you can't afford it they give you discounts. And they're open 6 days a week so depending on your schedule you can go pretty much everyday if you like.

Too many dojos now a days are ripping people off on membership fees. Common a membership to a major fitness centre is less than $70 a month and they're open 7 says a week and have pools weights tracks etc.... And probably have some sort of martial arts classes offered as well.

Save the money and find a club with a cheaper rate.

You did not say what your skill level is, but if this is your first time in martial arts, you need to go to a school where there are people more on your own level. This looks like a school for people who have been training for a long time. This is like any other sport, you don't start playing varsity if you never had experience in the sport before. Besides, if these are adults, they could seriously injure you. What do your parent say? Try something a little easier, then maybe when you are a little older, you can try this.

On general principles, it looks like you made a good choice:

1. You have a Chinese teacher teaching you a Chinese MA.
2. He learned his martial arts in China.
3. Your teacher is also WRITING about MA!
4. If your teacher does push hands he is getting a lot deeper into Taiji than merely teaching forms.

This tells me:

1. He isn't teaching a watered down Americanized martial art.
2. He is dedicated to his discipline.
3. He has his students writing and THINKING! This indicates that his students are also learning the philosophy of their discipline not merely memorizing how to do forms.

STICK WITH THIS TEACHER AS LONG AS YOU CAN!!!!!

Cost today cannot properly attain if it's real or not.
What I suggest is go to a studio where you can make friends and grow in the art and with those around you.
You will have a second family of Close Friends that have shared in weaknesses etc. with you.
At your age Friends, School and Family need to be #1
You can switch arts when your older and have a better understanding of your goal.

Looks fine...

and for future reference...dont announce that you are 12, then allow a way for people to know the address of a place you will go to, along with the times you are likely to be there. Id delete this question if I were you there are a lot of weirdos on here. Sad but true...

seems a lot of money for 2 classes a month.not a good way to learn or train only 2 classes a month.

Does the master care about your school grades? If he tells you that you will be required to bring in your report card for him to look at and that there will be punnishment for bad grades or conduct at school, then yes this is a good school that is not just in it for the money.
