I was listening to the NAACP Awards the other night and people who should know better were doing this. eg: Bernie Mac dropped the S from more then one of the words he used even the proper name Williams and said "Henry William"
I am sure Mr Cosby must have crindged in his seat.

I am going to try my best to be nice about this ....I havae to be honest I do no like this question ...it is just the way some people talk I know people that add s to everything I dont feel it is an African American thing I feel it is a grammer thing by the I dont like the the question but I like the uniqueness of it

If you read any African American history then you would find out that back in the days of slavery the African American came up with their own dialect of English language because all the African American tribes were having a hard time understanding each other and they also did not want their abusive slave owners to understand what they were saying. Anyway, every culture has their own version of speaking English and the African Americans are not any different, their way goes all the way back to the days of slavery.

Funny, Japanese and Chinese people do the same, but only when speaking English, so, is this genetic proof that English is not a native language for African Americans? Just like Anglo-Saxon people have great difficulty making correct pronunciations in French, Spanish, Italian, etc. Maybe you'd better ask Noam Chomsky
