***Red Queen***,
your very wrong, I really am curious.
It never fails, almost every serious question that I have seen that is for atheist...
ALOT of them get bent all out of shape and cant
seem to give a plain respectful answer without putting you or a religion (especially Christians) down in one way or another.
I was just wondering if they (atheist) consider it rude or something for you to ask a question about their beliefs...

Not every Atheist is a mean, bitter person whose ready to criticize you just for asking a question. Yes, we are all Atheist, but we all aren't the same person. Peoples attitude towards you and anyone else on here depends on the person, not the religion. That would be like me posting a question up saying "Why do Christians have to misconstrue everything Atheist say?" (And I wouldn't do that, because that classifies every person as one, targeting every Christian.) And I don't know about anyone else, but if an Atheist makes you mad and you decide to make a post like this, it targets every Atheist not just the one you are mad at, and that infuriates me that you take a shot at all Atheist instead of the individuals in which started it with you.

Also, you have to take into consideration the fact that, when you are an Atheist you have people com up and ask you the most stupid questions, and depending on the age of the person and how long they have been an Atheist, they get those questions a lot. I've had someone pull out a mini-pocket book bible and try to save my soul in the middle of Algebra class, so after a while it gets old..

And no, we do not worship Satan. It's a common misconception that all Atheist worship Satan, there may be some people out there who do but for the most part Atheist do not believe in god, and therefore we do not believe in Satan, or hell.

You might ask the same question about so many of us in any belief or faith...

If you think about it this way, most atheists are atheists because they are in search of the Truth. They question everything because they are looking for answers to things that don't make sense. Likewise, most Christians, and other denominations are doing the same thing... searching for Truth. Discernment is a HUGE part of that search.

I have respect for anyone who is continually searching for Truth. Who wouldn't want to search for Truth? No one wants to be ignorant.

If a person thinks they know the Truth, be they Atheist or Christian, it can be a source of arrogance and pride when they think you have all of the answers. It's a feeling of empowerment to think you are above the rest, and therefore, many scorn and mock what they think is less than what they believe to be true.

However, when one finally becomes FULLY aware of Truth, be it science or religion, the Truth is overwhelming and can only humble that person. It become fruitless to mock or scorn others for their beliefs, whether it be right or wrong, because the person finally realizes that compared to the Truth, they are nothing.

You can't label them all mean. The ones that act rude and throw insulting comments at you are only trying to stir up the flesh man in you. That is the spirit of anti-Christ that is attacking you. You got to turn the other cheek and don't take it so personally. they are attacking Christ within. Also remember that God gave us free will and the choice to choose whom we will serve this day. They have their right to choose whom they will serve too. Don't go asking them questions especially about God if that's what you are doing. Atheist do not believe in a God of any kind. Unless you are interested in becoming atheist why would you taunt them?

Can you give an example? Usually when I respond caustically, it's mirroring the tone of the Christian (And 9 times out of 10 it's a Christian) who asked an offensive question in the first place or worded things rudely.

First, there is no law that says everybody has to hold any beliefs at all.

Second, although I am not an atheist, I know many atheists. Not one of them is "mean, bitter, and ready to criticize etc."

I wonder of you have ever met any atheists. Or perhaps you are just brainwashed by some fundie pastor who gets mileage about inventing a non-existent enemy to scare you.

You think that the only people that dont want to be preached at are athiests? Most questions in here are pointed, from anyone, on both sides. Pretending this is not the case is a silly thing for anyone to do.

Let's turn that question around...

"Why are so many christians mean bitter and ready to *critise* just for asking a question about their beliefs?"

Now how does that feel???

Looks like pretty little Jasmine is here simply to stir up trouble.

***The tone of your question leaves you wide open for criticism. That's the reason people of any religion answer rudely~the tone in which the question is asked.
