Manic High?

are the following things considered part of manic highs ?? Having lots of self confidence ..... being totally happy with your friends hanging out with everybody .. loving your job .. willing to go places in public etc

Self-confidence isn't a symptom, however an inflated sense of self-esteem (unrealistic sense of self-esteem) is a hypomanic symptom. A grandiose delusional belief in one's sense of power or worth is manic. An elevated desire to socialize, engage in reckless behavior that has a high potential for damaging consequences, hypersexuality and overproductivity all can be part of mania-the key is that these things happen in conjunction with one another and are episodic and distinctly different from normal, happy moods for the person experiencing them. There is an intensity that distinguishes the episode from normal levels of all these things. Significantly decreased need for sleep is a key indicator as are racing thoughts, excessive energy and overproductive speech.

Are you ever so depressed you want to die then suddenly feel like your the happiest person in the world? If you don't ever feel like you would be better off dead one day and the next day feel like your the happiest person in the world you aren't manic. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having self-confidence, being happy to hang out with friends, loving your job, or be willing to go places in public. It just means you are a secure, happy adult. If you aren't constantly depressed and then so happy you can hardly stand yourself, you have nothing to worry about. There is nothing wrong with enjoying the life you have.
