I don't know that it would have necessarily died, but it certianly would never have gained the global power that it has. It would most likly have stayed in the Middle East for many more centuries and would ahve, like Judiasm, been understaood as a matter of blood and ancestry rather than as a universal ideology. After all it was Constantine that decreed that the whole of the world should be converted or put to the sword...

Actually, The Roman Empire wouldn't survive without making the Edict of Milan.
Christianity was growing fast and strong, during the time, The Roman Empire was in crisis, and Constantine made the edict to put his Empire under a strict order
I know, without the edict, Christianity wouldn't be strong and affect the life expectancy

It was God that got Constantine to provide a safe haven and a stable home for his church.
And if Constantine didn't do it, God would have raised up someone else, because without the Catholic Church, the world would have descended into hell, after the fall of the Roman empire.
Instead, we had a short period of retrenchment, followed by the greatest advances in art, science, and philosophy the world had ever known, all due to God's grace, and the stabilizing and civilizing influence of the universal and world wide Christian Church.
The continued existence of the Catholic Church is proof that God keeps his promises. And one of his key promises is to bless and keep his Church, no matter what, until Christ returns, at the end of the age.

Yes and Constantine was simply a power hungry Pagan who wanted to unite the people under a common religion that he could control. Ingenious, really. It's still working today.

absolutely. Only a legitimate empire like the roman empire of the time could have made a religion without any real basis so wide spread.

No,I don't believe so.
Christianity would still have been practiced,as it was when the religion was illegal. In fact, when Christianity was illegal,it thrived.
Either way,it would not have died out.

It probably wouldn't have died out, but it would have fragmented much earlier than it did, and wouldn't be as influential as it now is in the western world

God would have made a way, thats like saying Jesus accomplishment would have been null because of the failings of man? Man failed from the beginning. No credit to him but to GOD, as I am sure he would have said himself
