There are very few set rules concerning this, and those rules are based upon the nature of demons and God. As such, I don't think there's any specific rule against remote exorcism.

Whether or not it has been possible for anyone else, the question is, Does God want what you're asking for the person in question? The answer can only be found by spending time with God. He has the answer and the means for liberation.

Remember that the key to liberation is a strong relationship with the Holy Spirit. Without the Spirit, there is no power.

You might also want to (cautiously) read books on the subject, such as Bob Larson's books.

I knew a missionary couple who were praying for the deliverance of a demon possessed person and the demon was screaming during the procedure. The spouse came running in wanting to know what was going on and said he could hear the screams out in the field. The only thing was that he was a good 10 miles away from the house and there was no way he could have heard anything from that distance. The demons were in communication with each other, spiritually. The couple was completely delivered. As far as I can remember in Scripture, Jesus was always in the physical vicinity of the person. One of the things about demons is that they like to "hide" in a person - a high level of anointing in a persons life makes them "react" and thereby "reveal" their presence. That is one reason it works best in actual physical proximity. I won't say that it can't happen with someone who is not physically present, because God is all power and certainly can use that method if He chooses to do so. But I will say that for a true "exoricism" it would be the exception in my experience. The power of prayer can get that person into a position for their deliverance, and of course fasting and prayer should always precede any demon confrontation. The level of God's power and anointing in your life must be greater than the level of the heirarchy of demonic force being confronted. God's authority in and through us rises in direct proportion to how much God has of us. Jesus said "satan comes but has NOTHING IN me." It is that area that we must attain to if we want true authority and power from God to be effective in demonic warfare. Let God show you the timing and the steps to take for the complete deliverance of this precious soul.

I like to start out with some light stretching followed by some dance aerobics to loosen the muscles. After that we target those troublesome abs with some crunches. After that some serious weight training.

With a grateful prayer and a thankful heart that the demon be gone and the possessed be a servant of the Lord.

It's called a prairie fire.
A shot of cheap tequila and a dash of Crazy Dave's Insanity
Sauce...about 12 of these will do it!

I am going to say "yes". I have prayed for many people in this situation ... I have prayed "remotely" for people who were oppressed by demons and they were set free from the [demonic] problem .......

each situation is different from the next ...... really depends upon how deep the problem is as well ..... some are far worse than others ......

first you would have to spend a good deal of time fasting and praying ... this would allow you to get some Divine direction as to what do do next. You might be required to physically go to that person after all .... just depends on what the Lord tells you ....

the most effective session I ever saw was when I worked on a prayer team of 3 people ... we all fasted and prayed for a guy who got involved in some really bad stuff one time ...... that was the most dramatic and powerful session I have ever seen ..... got to tell you, though ..... it is HARD these days to try to put together a team like that ....

anyways ... hope this helps ......
