true there is no cure for voices that sounds (as you put it airiness)what there is however is a wiliness to have a voice couch to train yourself not to force whatever voice that you have.
A lot of times people will force themselves to "sound" better, in doing this all that really happens is air comes out
instead(with your voice)of just your beautiful voice.
hopes this helps some!!!!!!

If you are still a teenager, you will have to rely on time, that great healer, to work its magic. Most teenagers haven't finished their growth cycles, and that includes the larynx, or voice box. During puberty, a mini-gap remains between the vocal cords, allowing a little bit of extra air to escape. As the body/voice matures, this mutational chink, as it's called, will close of itself. So don't push at it. this occurs much more obviously for the menfolk, but we women also experience it. ( Who are the top female pop performers, and how many of them still sound airy)
Taking lessons is always a good idea, a good teacher can help you "focus" your air/sound stream to intensify the sound.
If scratchiness is the problem, please check with your local ENT ( ears, Nose, and Throat) specialist, to see if there is any organic dysfunction. This is very very unlikely to be true, but it doesn't hurt to know for a fact, does it?
As for pretty, that is highly subjective. there have been thousands of singers that the world both admires and hates at the same time. The is no absolute. For pleasant, comfortable, able to express emotion, go take lessons! The teacher will do all s/he can to help your voice unfold. There is also no promise that says singing lessons will make you into something you are not, but with practice and enthusiasm, why you can go a long long way.
Best wishes, and keep on singing

Also, after you have tried babying your voice, I like saltwater myself, see where you are pushing from. If it is from the throat, don't just use more air, try sending it more through your nasal passages. I think 1/2 the singing problems I hear as a voice teacher is people not using their resonators.
Tricks: Put your hand at nose level and imagine singing above your hand. Point to your forehead while you sing to make you more resonator conscious.
Imitate the prettiest sound you hear. Feel how it is different than your norm.
Take a voice lesson. A diagnostic can only help, and you don't have to commit to a program. Many people do this.

If your voice naturally has a "scratchy" quality, there really isn't anything you can do about it. The way you sound is mostly because of your DNA believe it or not. It's an instrument that will change and mature over time so if I were you, I wouldn't worry about it.

I dunno if you are a professional singer or not, but I have an airiness to mine and it drives my crazy. My music teacher said to just really support it with more air. Of course when I am at home, running around trying to sing Elevation, Beautiful Day, Vertigo, or Sunday Bloody Sunday, my voice has no airiness 'cause I am pretty much yelling at the top of my lungs. it sounds really bad, but nobody is around and I have fun!

If breathiness is the problem, say the word "sing" then hold the "ng" position. Then, hum in that position. Scales, siren sounds, the melody of a song, etc. It really helped me a lot.
