I'm really not convinced the original American "Christians" were real Christians. The "Christians" killed each other (Puritians killed the Quakers, vice versa) and these so called Christians, these hypocrites that supposedly fled to America to escape persecution, killed and persecuted American Indians and many other people. They may have had a sincere heart for Jesus, but they sure didn't act like Christians. These are people that stole the land away from the American Indians. Stealing isn't Christian. They killed the Indians and cleared the land of them, pushing them more and more away. These are not the actions of Christians. Their zeal for God means nothing to me, not their proclamation of the Gospel nor anything else they did in the name of Christ, because the hellish things they did against other people cancels out their claim of being Christian.
Then they came up with this rediculous lie of manifest destiny (check it out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manifest_destiny ) which was used to supposedly justify (and may still be used as an excuse today by some people) to justify their hellish behavior towards the world. Christians owned slaves and justified it by the Bible. Christians called on the name of God in the Government, but historically at the same time, practiced freemasonry.
What manner of Christians are these? I am not convinced these people were real Christians. So now we have a government with a Christian president that carpet bombs a whole country,. And today Christians in conservative churches are singing to Carmen's song "We need God in America again". "Again"? Then you come to yahoo asking when will America embrace the conservative Christian heritage again... What do you mean again? America was not founded on any kind of true Christianity, and America's history of Christianity has been anything but conservative.
I don't mean to get all testy, but wake up. America is not Christian, and if the history doesn't prove it to you, then perhaps the fact that Christians pledge allegiance to a FLAG (an object- not just what it stands for, but to the actual flag as well) should convince you that there's a strange kind of "Christianity" being practiced in America. My question is, when will America repent?

Not everyone in the United States of America is Christian. Some of us are Jewish, some are Muslim, some are Buddist, etc., etc. There are many different types of Christian faith practices out there as well and of course those who do not believe in a God at all. We live in a free society, free from religious persecution, and that is a very good thing for all of us. Not everyone will embrace the love of God the way you do, that does not mean that they are any less or more than you in the eyes of God. Love is sufficient. Peace.

This country was founded one nation under God, not Buddha or Allah
This country uses money that says In God we trust, again not Buddha or Allah or to no one.
This country uses the Bible for the president to be sworn into office, not the Koran or the Mormon Bible.
I am not trying to be rude to these other religions, however b/c we have allowed everyone to practice whatever religion they want or don't want we have turned our backs on the one who we once prayed to before we did anything. God WAS in schools in America, the CHURCH was the center of the towns being built, etc
The separation of church and state does not say religion should be separate. Read it in its entirety.
Just like the right to bare arms doesn't mean literally any crack head that doesn't have a criminal record should be allowed to carry a gun. It was b/c the British came, b/c we were defending our country.
Many inalienable rights have been twisted so much we have lost the real meaning.
I am sorry but who is it that every congressman (who was voted by the people) prays to before they start a meeting? God I do believe. Funny how we forget these things.
God Bless

America, as far as I know, doesn't do things like "wake up", "embrace" or "repent".
We are shameless and forward-thinking and I love us. You don't have to be a fundamentalist christian to avoid being bad person.

When they wake up one day and find that they no longer live in a nation with democratic laws, but instead live in a nation of Islam. Then the same who are degrading Christianity, will be trying to find just one single surviving Christian to hook up with.
Muuuuhahahaha - the time is coming

conservative Christian heritage? thats bogus. most of our founding fathers were influenced by the age of enlightenment. they were intellectuals and though they respected chritianity they did not fully adhere to the trinity. repenting is great but it matters in what fashion. peace.

united statesa. hasn't been "stimulated and guided" via Christian concepts, as you placed it. united statesa. has been "stimulated and guided" via the guidelines that "all adult men were created equivalent", and that all of us has the right to "existence, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". the position slavery suits into all that, i don't understand. I wasn't there. you've were given to submit to in ideas, although, like Joseph from the Bible, many slaves that were transported to the Colonies from Africa, were bought into slavery with the help of their own households. No, that doesn't make it accurate on all of us's area, yet even although the white adult men might want to shoulder the virtually all the blame, someone bought them into slavery, and they ought to might want to own area of it.
