I've had Calamari. Other than it being a little chewy, and some of the pieces looking like a deep fried spider, it's pretty good. It doesn't taste to fishy. Try it with lemon, or marinara.

The pleasure of squid is entirely dependent on 2 factors: preparation and freshness.

I enjoy the typical calimari preparation one finds in the italian style chain restaraunts, deep fried with a light coating, served with a solid dipping sauce. I'm not terribly fond of the sauted preparations I have seen because I think it makes the squid too chewy.

Yes, I tried it on a dare about ten years ago, and I must say after the first bite, I asked for more. I have been a Calamari connoisseur since then. Of course, it has to be fresh and prepared just right, served with marinara sauce. DELICIOUS!!!

Calamari is great. Did you know that you can only get it "fresh" on the east coast. It's a delicate species. It wouldn't stay fresh for the long trip to the Midwest or west coast. So, if you live in those parts, your still getting a quality product but, it is frozen before it is sent.

Oh yeah. Calamari, and even in a pasta dish where the suckers were still on the tentacles. Ignore that part and it still tastes good!

Calamari is ok...

The problem is that most of the time it's over cooked and rubbery - yuck!

Love it, but only if it's cooked. Not raw.
