give him an honest answer.... tell you you dont like him as a boyfriend, just as a friend.... you cant create feelings that arent there.... if he is your friend, he will understand how you feel, if he doesnt, then he isnt your friend.... good luck

I tried going out with one of my best friends more than once, and it never worked! We just got along so well and enjoyed each others company and phone conversations and all, but going on a date was SO awkward! I don't think it would hurt to go out ... it should be obvious to you both that you were meant to be friends, and that's important enough right there!

U r young that is why it would feel weird. But when you r older and have alot of responsibilitys to manage it always feels perfect when an old or close friend wants to date you???A friend of mine was tired of men in general and owned her own home has a great career,well... a hs boyfriend had retired from the military and returned home. When my friend and him met up and dated 6 mos. she married him and had a baby the following year. They are doing great!!

Other people have asked if they should let their friend know that they want more than just a platonic friendship. Most answers have been "go for it". Your friend is just following that advice. Its obvious that he wants more. If you don't, tell him. If you don't know, why not try it. Good luck.

Well, you should do what you feel you need to, but I've been in his situation and it sucks... maybe give him a chance? Either way, I can guarantee your friendship will never quite be the same as it was.

Just tell him, what you told us, that you don't see him in a boyfriend kind of way, and that you are sorry, but that's the way it is.
It happens often, and it's really his problem not yours. He perhaps was fantasizing about you, so it's all in his mind.
So just be honest and nip it in the bud.
