Which color car would absorb more heat when left in the sun?
Lets assume that both have same 'type' of black and white color on and they have identical interiors.

Thank you all for your valuable inputs.
I had a big fight with all my friends. They all laughed on me. They told me that it's true with clothes, but for cars, it doesn't make any difference since metal and clothes are different materials.
But I believe that no matter what the composition of the material, darker objects will always absorb more heat.
I'm looking for some solid proof to shut their mouths. I faced a lot of embarrassment and now it's time for some payback, but no so easy, something royal.
Do keep pouring lots of inputs.
Thanks
Here is one technical reference

Does any one have some solid university/technical stuff?
Please mail me.
Cheers!

black absorbs heat and seals it in, same with clothing, if you have a black car with leather seats its going to feel like the core of a volcano in there if you leave it in the sun. also, black shows dirt faster than white, although both get pretty dirty quick. go for a dark grey or silver maybe.

Black will absorb more heat than a white car when left out in the sun. White cars are safter though because you can see them when it is dusk and don't show dirt as much.

Take a trip to Arizona and you will find many white cars. White reflects more sun than any color and black absorbs more sun than any other color.

Black cars are extremely hot in the summer and white cars are extremely cold in the winter. I prefer black because you can roll windows down if you're in a hurry, but a white car you have to deal with the cold, until you're heater kicks in. So if you live in a warm climate go with white, if you live in a colder climate go with black. A word about cleaning... white cars and black cars are just about the same cleaning wise. Although in my experience black is just a tad easier.

Ive owned a white can and Ive owned a black car. They are both hot when you get into them. If you have air conditioning, problem solved. They all cool down (unless your air is defective, lol). In the winter they are both just as cold. Clean black cars are awesome but take alot of work.

Black absorbs more heat. That's why you see a lot of light colored cars in Florida.

White radiates heat, but does not absorbe it. Black on the other hand hold the heat in, because it doesn't radiate it outwards.

Can't we all just get along?
No, seriously. White doesn't show dirt as much, reflects heat and is safer becuase people see you better.
