I would have 2 say, hands down, yorkies and silkies are the most adorable teacup dogs.
I personally have a pomeranian that is sooo cute, but not all of them r really cute lyke mine [i've seen sum down rite ugly 1s]. I'm talking in general breeds, so i'm hoping not 2 offend u other doggy lovers, i'm sure ur pooch is cute 2!

Teacup means a dog under 4 lbs and under 7 inches.
Teacup is not an official term, it is a casual term used to describe a small dog. The term "Teacup" is helpful to use so a breeder can describe how big the puppy is expected to be.
Teacup 2 lbs - 4 lbs. (usually 3 or 4 lbs, 2 lbs is really rare)
Tiny Toy 4 lbs - 6 lbs
Toy 6- 10 lbs
Most people who say they want a "teacup" actually want a "tiny toy"... true Teacups can't even go up and down stairs because they are so small. Also Teacups are susceptible to Hypoglycima which is a drop in blood sugar. They can die from this!!! Know all you can about a Teacup's care if you are interested in owning one.
A lot of extra care and time is required with owning a Teacup.
As for different breeds, I would say, chihuahua, poodle, maltese or yorkshire terrier.
A responsible breeder will have a health guarantee and health checks. A teacup can have lots of health problems so make sure your breeder is responsible.
Personally, I like poodles and I have seen some good poodle breeders that have health guarantees on their extra small dogs.
I think the cutest teacup poodles that I have ever seen come from Velvet Touch Kennels. Velvet Touch is super expensive like $3,000 easy... and I'm not sure of the health... but their poodles are adorable! Baby doll faces and square builds.
An example of what I would call a "healthy" breeder would be Pola Poodles. I personally trust them on health.
Look around. Do your research. I'm sure you will develop your own standards to evaluate responsible breeders.

According to the AKC (and every other national kennel club that I know of), a teacup anything is not even a breed. Teacups are produced by breeding the smallest of the small with more of the same to try to, over generations, produce tiny little mini-breeds. Teacups are all the rage, but many people forget that there are usually a lot of problems with these poor things. They tend to be 100% more prone to serious medical issues (especially with bones/joints and heart). Because of their size, they easily are injured and are just less hardy dogs, in general. I wouldn't invest money in a "teacup" anything ... go to www.akc.org and find a smaller breed of dog if size is your main factor in choosing a dog. This site will give you tons of info about every recognized breed in the AKC and will also help you find a reputable breeder.
Good luck!
PS - to correct another post ... there is NO such thing as a "non-shedding" breed ... any living thing that has hair sheds.

There is no such thing as a "teacup" anything. It's a clever marketing tool that breeders use when breeding down a dog's size. Personally, I'd never buy from a breeder that breeds a "teacup" anything. EDIT: Regarding corgi's... what made you interested in the breed and wanting a "teacup" corgi? You realize they're herding dogs, right? Do you have any experience with herding type dogs? These are dogs that need jobs... they aren't your typical lap dog. Have you done any research on the breed?

"Teacup" is not recognized for any breed. What it is really, is a marketing scam by bad backyard breeders. These dogs do not conform to the breed standard, and therefore really should not be bred in the first place. Most of those that breed this type also don't bother with proper genetic and health testing either, like a reputable breeder will do.
I would suggest finding a good breeder of your breed of choice and seeing if you could maybe obtain the runt of a litter on limited registration. At least this way, you know you will have a healthy puppy.

Any dog in the AKC toy group will be very small. A "teacup" size does NOT exist. It is a marketing ploy to sell undersized dogs. If you buy a dog marketed as a teacup be prepared for many, many problems both with socially and health wise. Just get a normal toy sized dog. They are still tiny and adorable but they won't have nearly as many problems.

Hi I happen to like poodles. I have 2 of them myself. With any small dog they need a lot of care. They burn energy very fast and get cold easily. The teacup means that they are under 4lbs it is true that they are still of the toy breed they are just very small.
