First of all if you reserve a hotel room they will never give you a room number before you check in.
You cannot check into a hotel by yourself if you are under 18.
Call the hotel to cancel your reservation, then make a new one and get a confirmation number.
If you gave your credit card number, call the bank to see if the hotel put a hold on your credit card.

she needs to contact her credit card company and make sure no fraudulent charges have been made. But people can use the number over the internet. Especially if they have the numbers on the back of the card. It can also be used over the phone.

When you give your card number to an employee for legitimate business purposes, you expect it to remain confidential and used for your purchase only. Whether the reservation was made or not, they will either use the card illegally or not. Do you have any reason to believe it will be used fraudulently?

There is lot of thing that they can do with the credit card especially if you voluntary give the information to them. I the employee of the hotel told you that you have no records with them, cancel right away the purchase you made and call the credit card provider just to play safe. You don't want your mom to pay something that she never use and purchase. There is a lot of fraud going on around and just be careful not to be a victim of on of them. My son did and he still paying for that $21,000 frauded on his account.

hmmmm. relies upon, i used to have that arise each and each of the time after I worked in reservations at a inn. each now and then they are going to placed a carry on the cardboard. in case you booked over the web, i visit rather a lot assure you they placed the completed issue on your card, and also you've got a confusing time getting it again. besides the undeniable fact that in case you have not stayed there yet, it may only be a carry, and it is going to cancel even as or in case you cancel your room, or ensue with a diverse mastercard or funds.......in case you've already stayed there, then you definately may wanna discover out what the prices were for.....wish that helped you fairly.

the cardholder should call the card company IMMEDIATELY to report suspested fraud or abuse.
Verify if the card was charged by viewing the account activity online.
They have your personal information and your card information. Your card could be maxed out in minutes.
And, lastly, find a hotel where they will reserve it and not leave you guessing.

Sure, if the employee is dishonest, they can use your card number.
Did you get a reference number from the person that took your room reservation at the hotel? Did he/she give you his/her name when they took the reservation?

If it's a legitimate hotel that you're dealing with then they will just use the information for what they stated. They could essentially use it for anything they liked, but it's unlikely if they're a decent place.
It's possible the payment was put through but the person then forgot to mark you in their book. Call back and double check they haven't booked you in for the wrong dates too.
