I have a delco stereo on my 2000 suburban and the lights on the buttons don't light up anymore, or at least most of them don't. Can the lights be fixed?

Yes, but unless the stereo head unit is still under warranty, it wouldn't be worth the expense. Either buy a new/used stock unit or replace it with an aftermarket unit of your choice.

The lights are NOT led's and can be replaced. There are 10 of them in there and if you can solder, then you have it made. Takes about an hour or 2 to do the job. The filament bulbs are not polarity sensitive so there is no confusion as the which direction they go in. Here is where you can get the replacements: http://www.corvetteradios.com/corvetteradios_013.htm

I have the same problem on my 2000 Sierra pick up.
Iwas told that the radio would have to be swapped out.
That would be 200-300 bucks.
I decided to live with it for a while longer.
I didn't want to convert to an aftermaket radio because I like the radio otherwise.

the lights in your radio are l.e.d.s and are not replaceable bulbs like the older cars used to be. so the answer to your question is yes and no, if you don t have the right tools and knowledge i d say swapping the radio would be the best option.
