"The dead do not praise the Lord, nor do any who go down in silence." (Psalms 115:17.) "For the living know that they shall die; but the dead DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING....their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished." (Ecclesiastes 9:5,6). It is unfortunate that some so-called Christians preach about an immortal soul and that souls go to heaven or hell when they die. This is a doctrine of demons, from hell itself. It is the devil who lied to our original parents that they "would not surely die" contradicting God's statement that they "would surely die". Which sets up the fallacy that God would torture sinners forever in hell! That would be diabolical of God to do. When you die, you die. That's why there is going to be a resurrection. Otherwise, what is the point of a rusurrection if people don' t die?

I think you are right about people who die without Christ go to Hell, but those who die in Christ go immediately to be with the Lord.
Paul said, when debating whether it were better for him if he die or live:
"But I am hard-pressed from both directions. having the desire to depart and BE WITH CHRIST, for that is very much better." (Philippians 1:23)
"For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down (that is, our body), we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.....
Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord - for we walk by faith, not by sight - we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body, and TO BE AT HOME WITH THE LORD.
Therefore also we have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to the Lord. (II Corinthians 5:1, 6-9)

Death is not a "disaster" which should be forgotten but an important lesson that teaches people the real meaning of life. It should therefore be the subject of profound thought. The believers ponder deeply on that great reality with sincerity and wisdom. All created beings are mortal, and this shows that they are powerless and unable servants of God. God is the only owner of life; all creatures have come to life by God's Decree and will ultimately die by God's Decree.

When people die, they are buried. Then they stay there until the Second Coming. Then the people who love God trully go to heaven, and the others, well, don't. And that is biblical.

What happens after death is what is known as the *particular judgment|*
God holds a mirror up to your soul, so that it is seen as it really is|
In our lives on earth, our beings are largely a mystery, but at the particular judgment we will be given a knowledge of ourselves that is *absolute* and *complete|*
In an instantaneous flash, we will see our whole life - and see it in all of its detail - every deed done, every word spoken, and every thought thought|
We will also fully and completely know what is in the subconscious|
We will know every deed and the *merit* or *demerit* of it before God.
Some things will be surprising, some things that we thought were good may turn out to be displeasing to God, other things that we thought of as of being of no importance may turn out to be of incomparable value before God.
God's judgments are not our judgments, but in God's Truth we will see them as absolutely right and the way they must be|
Also, we will completely understand what any person in our presence thought in reaction to what we said or done, we will perceive the hidden malice behind the nice behavior of some people, and the good will behind the rough edges of others, in many cases, people will turn out to be other than what we thought them to be|
Then we will be assigned to our appropriate place in *heaven,* *hell,* or *purgatory|* We cannot argue with that judgment because we will know it to be the absolute truth, as our very own conscience was the judge of it, in the infinite light of God's truth|
For every one of us our judgment will be astonishing, for then we will see the inner essence of reality that we could not see in this life (all we normally see with our five senses are its outer manifestations); it will be appalling to many as they realize where they are going because they lived their own lives treating others as *mere means* for their own ambitions, not loving them - and it does not matter what the facade of *faith,* *good works,* or *piety* that person practiced - all their seeming goodness was governed totally by a selfishness that was hidden from others and that was almost hidden from themselves|

Well here is my answer==Several hundred years ago, a englishman wrote the first book, of what came to him. He took it to the QUEEN of england, and they took it to a public place to let everyone read it. It (the firsr book) stopped the turmoil in england, but each time one read it one got a different story from it.Later in time others wrote stories from what they read. These are the stories of today in what you call bibles. When people die they are gone. Theirs no rest or whatever. Your dead- your dead.

I believe what you believe, except I don't think that Christians are the only ones who rest.I believe ALL good people who follow the teachings of peace and goodwill toward other living creatures rest, regardless of their religious beliefs.

I don't think that God would allow a place like hell to exist.
Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.
While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.
Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.
I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.
I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.
I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.
Your brother don

We will "sleep" in the grave until Jesus returns on Judgment Day. Then He with take us to Heaven or be cast into Hell.
