Fenced yard!
Why do people do this to their dogs?
Put them in a crate, come home at noon and let them out.
No dog should be in the crate for more than 3 hrs.
Pay someone to do this.
Get rid of the dogs until you can care for them properly.
Get a cat instead.
Dog Pads are a terrible idea, they only reinforce the behavior you are wanting to change.

you may not want to put them in their crate while you are gone but for now it might be the best solution. I do have a dog and this is how I trained her. After a couple of weeks try letting them out of the crates when your gone and see what happens. This would be best for small time frames like going to the grocery store at first. Is it just one dog that does this? alternate dogs from the crate and see if they all do this. There is no purpose to keep the good. one crated. Your house should be your home and ruled by you not your animals so for them to ruin your carpet it would be best if you figured out what will work or getting new carpet won't be worth the money they will destroy it again. Good Luck.

If you are leaving your dogs in for so long that they cannot hold it anymore than of course they are going to do it in the house, they have no choice. If you must lock them up like this then you need to put them in a room in your house that has linoleum or tile floors that can actually be cleaned, do not leave food and water out for them while you are gone. Feed them at night when you are actually there to let them outside or walk them. A better option would be for you to buy an outside dog run and put them outside during the day so you and the dog aren't living in filth.

Can't you hire a neighbor to let them out half way through the day? $20-25 bucks a month will be worth it. Cheaper than carpet! If not, baby gate them in the kitchen, put puppy pads in one area near the door-3 or 4.Dogs do not like to pee in the house, they sense your dissapointment. Make sure they each have their own soft bed to sleep on all day...no hard floors.

Crate the dog when you aren't home, and train YOURSELF to let them out frequently when you are.
Also, don't leave food and water out for them to eat during the day... Don't feed them for a hour prior to leaving them...
If you are gone for more then 7-8 hours, then perhaps look into a doggie day care.
Another option would be leaving them in a room that has washable flooring

Doggie doors are a great tool. They can be put in almost any space, Doors, walls, sliding glass doors, and even low windows. If a secure yard is available. Another suggestion for small dogs is a piece of sod placed in a flat plastic pan, that way they are still going in"the Yard".

Hire a dog walker, take them to doggie daycare, clean the spots with Nature's Miracle.
Try to come on your lunch break to let them out.

My dog had the same problem. It is better 2 teach them 2 go outside than to b house trained. Then they will hold it. Also clean up where they go very well. if they can smell where they last went they will think it is their territory and will pee on it again and again.

I understand that the dog could be left alone for that period of time, I did at one point work a 12 hr shift. And I bought the special litter for dogs and she was trained in 2 weeks. Just take the poo you find and put it in the litter and she will understand.
You can get it at Petsmart and Petco.

YOU HAVE TO LET THEM OUT!!!!! they need fresh air and somewhere to go to the bathroom. they probably just go there because there is no one to let them out. you can find a dog sitter, or you could come home in ur free time and you can also ask a friend if they have time, maybe once a day to take them out; morning- your turn- evening-friend-night-urs etc.
