My dad says that you can have built muscles in the arms and legs and everything, but if you don't have a well built core there useless.

Your core is the center of your being. If you've ever practiced Pilates, Yoga or Tai Chi, those forms of exercises focus on the core because it is REALLY important. If you think about it, your extremities are attached to your core in some way, shape or form.
Your core is also responsible for your posture and stability as you perform exercises and day-to-day activities as well.

They are not useless, but if you have belly fat you are setting yourself up for a heart attack. The deep belly fat is very dangerous. The core exercises, stomach, back, waist will help to strengthen those muscles. And hopefully you will lose the fat as you exercise and eat healthy.

itsnot only about muscles but its very good for your heart..you dont want to be obese, or have back pain when youre old...you want to be FIT...
oh sry i spoke generally..i have no clue what core exercises are..but you should exercise generally

because everything goes to the back, when your arm lifts something, your back is lifting that arm. If you are all arms and no back/abs, you're going to hurt your back.
