Are you straightening your hair with heat (such as a flat iron or blow dryer which is temporary) or with a chemical relaxer (which is permanent)?
If you are straightening with heat, you may want to:
1. change your straightening technique (i.e.blow dry from back to front instead of front to back; bottom up; or flat iron smaller sections at a time, etc.)
2. add more heat (i.e. get an iron or blowdryer with higher temperature settings - ionic dryers are good)
3. make sure your hair is completely dry before you straighten. Moisture (from the shower, humidity, sweat, etc.) makes the hair curly again. Try to minimize as much as possible.
4. Change your tools. If you use a blowdryer, try a flat iron. If you use a flatiron, try buying one with smaller or larger plates. Buy one with higher heat settings. Ionic dryers and ceramic flat irons are much kinder to the hair.
5. "Seal" your hair with a serum or straightening cream. Frizz-ease is one brand. It keeps the outside cuticle layer of your hair closed so your hair lies flat and straight. (Curly hair has an open cuticle).
6. Condition your hair with a deep conditioner or leave-in conditioner (TCB Bone Straight is one brand) to keep in healthy and to further seal the cuticle.
7. Trim any split ends. Hair that is damaged with split ends will never lay straight for a long period of time.
If you are straightening your hair with a chemical process (ie a relaxer), perhaps you can try using a stronger hair relaxer (i.e. on made for "highly textured" hair - i.e. kinky, coily hair). But keep in mind that if your hair is highly textured, a relaxer will never get your hair completely straight. You will have to employ some of the heat (blowdry, flat iron) techniques above on a frequent basis in addition to the once a month process.
And the last option is to GO CURLY. Curls ain't all the bad! LOL.
Good luck.

You may need a better straightener....and try some heat protective straightening cremes.
Go here for hair straighteners;
folica.com
As for hair straighening cremes, my favorites are Redken Align Straightening Balm (12), Paul Mitchell Straight Works and Chi Straight Guard. They are expensive, but all of them work fantastically. They'll keep your hair silky and smooth and straight all day!

Before you straighten your hair, make sure its completly dry and squeeze a dab of anti-frizz cream in your hand and rub througout your hair. it. And when you do straighten your hair, do it in layers by putting all your hair up in a clip but just leaving a small section out and addig more to it. it will stay straighter that way. Good luck!

I think that it might be the type of hair staightener that you are using that is the problem. So you might want to try a different staightener. I hope that you figure out what the problem is. Good luck.
