Matthew 5:43-48 'You have heard that it was said "you shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy" But I say to you - Love your enemies, bless those who curse you- do good to those who hate you- and pray for those who use you or persecute you.

I think that has much wisdom to it.

Human Rights and Justice in Islam

Islam provides many human rights for the individual. The following are some of these human rights that Islam protects. The life and property of all citizens in an Islamic state are considered sacred, whether a person is Muslim or not. Islam also protects honor. So, in Islam, insulting others or making fun of them is not allowed. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: Truly your blood, your property, and your honor are inviolable. Saheeh Al-Bukhari, #1739, and Mosnad Ahmad, #2037.

Racism is not allowed in Islam, for the Quran speaks of human equality in the following terms:

O mankind, We have created you from a male and a female and have made you into nations and tribes for you to know one another. Truly, the noblest of you with God is the most pious. Truly, God is All-Knowing, All-Aware. The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 49, Verse 13

As the spirit of the ;Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more. 2 Corinthians 3:18

Be of good virtue, truthful, compassionate to your neighbors, and have faith and trust in the Lord.... is pleasing to God.

You are a work in progress. Your spiritual transformation in developing the character of Jesus will take the rest of your life, and even then it won't be completed here on earth. But, it is a gradual, progressive development that will teach you to be the best that you can be.

We can't even imagine what we will be like when Christ returns. But we do know that when he comes we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. 1 John 3:2

Every parable and lesson Jesus taught had to do with someone's attitude, someone's way of looking at the world. When the Pharisees questioned why Jesus ate with the tax collectors and criminals, Jesus said "People who are in good health do not need a doctor; sick people do." (Matthew 9: 12)

An attitude is a way of seeing the world: do you see tax collectors and sinners as throways or as sick people in need of a doctor? Do you see a woman who annoints anothers feet with perfume as someone wasting their money or as someone blessing and caring for another's well-being?

"Anyone who hears my words and puts them into practice is like the wise man who built his house on rock...Anyone who hears my words but does not put them into practice is like the foolish man who built his house on sandy ground..." Matthew 7: 24-26

How about the widdow's mite? Here was a woman, who put 1/5th of a penny in the offering and others thought her gift was insignificant because they were able to give more, yet, Jesus honored her and her faith because she gave all she had. Speaks of being judgemental, religious and also about what true giving is.
1As he looked up, Jesus saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. 2He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins.[a] 3"I tell you the truth," he said, "this poor widow has put in more than all the others. 4All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on."Luke 21 1-4

Take the parable of the sower who sowed good seed on the footpath, rocky soil, soil with weeds and on good soil. The four typres of soil can be likened to attitudes.

Footpaths are hard and the seed cannot germinate. this is liked to people who are hard hearted and do not listen.

The rocky soil is people who are enthusistic, but lack dedication and resolve.

The soil with weeds are those people who do not have much faith and are easily distracted.

The good soil is the people with a good attitude. They are willing to listen and are dedicated.
