duke. when we found him (he was dropped of at our farm) we brought him over to my grandparents house because one of their dogs had just died. my grandpa thought he was so ugly he had to have a prestigious and 'royal' name. Therefore: DUKE. but sometimes we still call him 'ugly'.

I have a 4 year old, male Chichilla cat , all white with blue eyes, totally deaf in both ears, absolute nutter and probably due to this freaks out a lot for no apparent reason, hence his name is Junky.
Also have 2 recently aquired Saimese kittens (5 months now), brother and sister from same litter, official names: Yin and Yan (obvioulsly!) but we call them Momo and Chiki because the names sound like their characters (Momo the male is laid back and cool and Chiki the female the opposite, springy and a general pest!)

One of our cats is named Mina, like the character out of Dracula, because she's a gray tabby (and thus has the letter "M" on her forehead and needed an M name). Another is named Stinky. He was born without a tail and missing 2 vertebra leading up to where the tail should be. He had some muscle control problems back there when he was a kitten. Thank GOD he outgrew it.

Daisy; female Brittany spaniel. I wanted to name her the name of a flower and "daisy" fit her personality.

Bear; overly large American Field Lab. He looked like a cute little bear cub when he was a little puppy. (lasted about 3 months)

Cartoon name? Can't think of anything right now.

My Border Collies name is Dakota, I just liked the name. My cats name is Ripples for two reasons, the first being that when I got him he definately caused a "Ripple" affect in my house and the second is he has odd markings that look like Fudge Ripple Ice Cream. My other cats name is Munchkin, we call her Munch for short, she has her name because she has always been a small little cat, like a Munchkin.

I have two toy poodles...

Male = Kooper (we named him after Mini Cooper's)

Female = Daisy Mae (she was going to be Kazzie, but that only lasted for about 1 hour till I took her picture in her coat that I made her, realized how débutantish she looked and changed it to Daisy Mae...

Well that and our 3 kids names start with K.. my name starts with a K sound.. but my hubby's name starts with a D... he was feeling a tad out numbered :)

My husband and I struggled with what to name our brand new weimaraner puppy last year.

We finally came up with the name "My Boy Blue" with his call name being "blue". The official AKC name was actually taken from a movie called Old School where Will Ferrell says to one of the pledged "you're my boy blue!" We are both movie buffs, so it was kind of fitting.

I named my male Pit Domino because he is White with little black dots under his coat that you can see, he just reminded me of a domino with the dots all over him. And my female Pit I named Roxy just because, Im not sure why, it just seemed to fit her.
