How do I replace my headlight bulb in my 2002 volkswagen gti?

For that kind of problem i would have to say to get under the hood from the inside of your car and change it from the inside, thats the way my car is anyway.

1st take a hammer and bust out the plastic lens cover, after that you should be able to reach in and pull out the bulb, then get some clear duct tape and replace broken lens cover. OR you can find a big cliff close to your chevrolet dealership, next leave your seat belt off, get up to 50 mph or so and right before the car goes over the cliff jump out. Walk to your chevrolet dealership and purchase an american made car. After this step you shouldn't have a problem with the headlight anymore.

It's a fairly simple procedure, but if you have anything OTHER than small hands, you're gonna need to take out the battery on the driver side. There's a black cover with a silver rod that holds it in place. Release that rod, and the cover should come off. If you're even slightly mechanically inclined you should be able to take it from there. I suggest going to AutoZone and buying a Haynes book. They only run about $20 and are very useful.

You can take the battery out, if you have a extra hour, or you can find someone with little hands to help, take the fan cover off at the top two piece, 4 screws, then unclamp the headlight cover, then the bulb and pull out. reverse process. if its on the passagner side its pretty easy to get to its just two clamps over the headlight cover take a screwdriver a push them off, hope this help.

when you raise the hood on it you may be able to get it from there,otherwise you can go from under neath of it and reach up and remove the old bulb,good luck.
