That is an excellent question!! You seem to appreciate the role that Paul had in shaping and spreading the version of Christianity that we are now familair with, and he was CRUCIAL... The Epistles (letters) of Paul are considered by most scholars to be the earliest known Christian documents- Predating the earliest Gospel (Mark) by some 20 years, and he most certainly had an influence upon how the Gospels were written, as well as a huge influence upon the shape and attitudes of the early church in general. In addition, he was a HUGE figure in the early evangalist movement, and traveled very widely and with great courage to spread his vision. The other major represented (and accepted) figure was the relatively introverted and suspicious Peter, who was not as educated, well-spoken, nor nearly as charismatic as Paul...
So to answer your question? The version of Christianity today, and there were many versions early on, would be almost certainly very different had there been no Saul of Tarsus, from what we know now... If it indeed survived at all...

You would wake up in the morning with a hang-over.
If you are insinuating that Paul of Tarsus single-handedly altered the face of Christianity, then you should probably study the development of Christianity a little more closely.

This is an interesting question. Thank you for coming away from the boring old standards on here.
My answer is that we would have never heard of Saul (his name while he was young) and someone else would have been called to do the work Paul did.

Then the fellowship of Christianity would probably have stayed just that...a fellowship...not an organized religion divided into sects...but wait Peter and John had their hand in creating this also.
I don't think the apostles fully understood what Jesus wanted them to do.
They transformed a ministry of love and faith into a mostly intolerant divided house.

Have you ever read the Book of Acts? Someone was trying to kill Paul in almost every chapter. God will get done what He wants done.

and no understanding,
and no counsel,
against the LORD."

Going back in time is not an option, and no time travel is currently known in the backwards direction as a feasible option.
Paul did face many people of his own time trying to murder him, and got delivered until he got martyred, which was so that he might enter heaven with great honour. So I guess God would deliver him from you attempting to murder him, since he got delivered many times !

God is all knowing, all powerful, what makes you think you can beat that? Your scenario would probably end with you stuck in the middle ages with a broke down time machine, being tried as a heretic, which sounds eerily appropriate.

Other than Paul being dead...nothing. Someone else would have taken up God's purpose.
