With the points systems and the amount of top drivers not doing as well in qualifing why not give points for qualifing. Since its all about points what better way to make a change.

It's not about where you start in a race, it's where you finish.
I don't think NASCAR should award points for qualifying.

I would like to see some points for qualifying. Specially with the top 35 in points in the race. Except for the pole and the teams trying to get in, I think qualifying has turned into some what of a joke. I do not like the rule that maybe the fastest 43 might not be the 43 in the race. Points for qualifying maybe...maybe might make it a little more vaulable.

NO WAY! They have already changed the points enough. Besides, there are too many variables to qualifying. Some drivers only get a pole because they went out to qualify early or late. That would be a weather variable right there. Can't put points out with things like that ruling what happens.
Must be a Gordon fan? :(

I think it would be great because some people have great qualifying runs and then get taken out in the middle of the race because someone crashed into them or intentionally spun them out. I think that you should get points for a pole position not necessarily for the starting positions after it but your system would benefit everyone and still give some good points to the drivers incase they had a bad race.

Not at all. Qualifying for the most part nowadays is to determine which cars not in the top 35 make the race. You can really start anywhere in the race and still win, especially at restrictor plate tracks. Letting the higher qualifying teams have pit selection is good enough.

Not like that, but I think the pole should get 5 points. Or the pole get 10 and the outside pole get 5. I think people should get awarded for winning the pole, especially the guys who are capable of sitting on the pole AND winning the race (i.e. Kahne and J Gordon).

I'm not sure that would really be a good idea. In the impound races you would give up the chance for more points overall in the race just to score a few lousy qualifying points. I think the points system should be corrected in the race itself. I know they changed it this year, let's see how it goes.

Absolutely NOT. Next we will be awarding points for community service, most stickers on their car and fastest pit crew. Points should strictly be awarded based on race performance on race day. Qualifying for the race alone is awarding.

I think yes only if they award 3 points for 1st, 2 for 2nd and 1 for 3rd. Then minus 5 for everyone else. LOL, just kidding!

If NASCAR does away with the top 35 and provisionals then award points for quailifing.
