(Based on this verse)

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, MIGHTY GOD, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." (NIV)

or for those who prefer the King James Version...
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, THE MIGHTY GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." (KJV)

This prophecy is fullfilled because in the NT it states in Matthew 1:21-23 :

"She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins. All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"—which means, "God with us."

So I ask: How does NE1 who claims to believe in the bible not believe "Jesus is God"?

NOTE: there is a stipulation in this question

"IF THEY BELIEVE IN THE BIBLE..."

question is directed towards those who believe the bible (OT & NT) and yet, still refuse the deity of Christ...

i'm honestly seeking an explanation on this. no joking.

Amen. :)

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority. (Col 2:9-10)

Because it says that "he will be called" God. It doesn't say that he was God. But the prophecy is fulfilled accurately, because people do call him, "God."

You might notice that Jacob and the "house of Jacob" are mentioned a time or two in the chapters that talk about "Immanuel," who was indeed Jesus. The "house of Jacob" is a prediction of the Christian Church.

Oh, you don't believe me?

Luke 1:32&33 The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.

That is talking about Jesus, and being specific about some things that are predicted from Isaiah.

One thing that he and the "house of Jacob" are wrong about is the "one way." There is only a "remnant of the house of Jacob," and a "remnant of the house of Israel," that are going to make it....according to the prophecy of Isaiah that you mentioned. That prophecy goes beyond the formation of the house of Jacob(Christianity), and continues until the cities of the earth are destroyed, never to be rebuilt.

Regards,

Chris

Some people do not believe that Jesus is the person that is spoken of in this scripture. Others do not believe the Bible at all. (This was written as a prophecy, not as a factual statement of what already has happened.)

each person that announces that atheism is a faith is an fool or ignorant. Your occasion is extremely good. i've got confidence that those comments are coming from Christians who bypass decrease than the theory their faith is authentic and all and sundry else is incorrect. those are the comparable people who desire prayer interior the time-honored public faculties or who oppose gay marriage because of the fact it is going against the bible. they are able to't comprehend that different individuals think of in any different case and that different individuals's perspectives are not any much less valid than theirs. additionally, to the Christians who say they're monotheistic, that isn't precisely authentic. they suspect in 3 gods rolled up into one, which incorporate a guy-god who's supposedly the son of himself, and a few style of ghost/spirit god.

In this instance, the word God simply means mighty one, not THE God. Jesus is God's Son, not God himself.

Are you talking to Jews?
The old testament is the Jewish holy books.....Christianity (Catholicism) just nabbed it off of them after debating whether it be included for a long time..

Yeah, God sent himself down as a blood offering to appease....ahh, himself.
