There are currently fewer viruses for Vista than XP. Vista also has better security to help you avoid viruses, although many people disable it.

Here's the real deal on viruses. Viruses will show up on ANY operating system that it is designed for. Linux has it's own, Mac has it's own, and windows has it's own. However, most virus makers prefer to make them for windows, since it is not only easier, but has a bigger audience. Although, it seems that no one creates them for older and thought-to-be unused operating systems anymore, which is why I stick to good old 98SE, even once a virus tried to run and couldn't since it lacked the support. haha!

Viruses are SOFTWARE. And don't let any uneducated idiot tell you it can render your computer useless, that's simply impossible.

Anything else u need to know about computers, feel free to ask me.

Hello oh hey,

Yes. In fact I heard that they had computer viruses for Vista months before it was even officially released.

No antivirus protection program is 100% because new viruses are being concocted every day.

You are the bottom line. An AV program can do only so much. If you are careless, you can get a virus.
