In all likehihood, she's dumped you. This is TYPICAL woman behavior.
You MIGHT want to ask her about it, or if nothing else, tell her you don't appreciate her lack of honesty. Guaranteed it won't help and she'll probably avoid you altogether from this point, anyway.
Don't feel bad. Things like this have happened to me my entire life, and most people today, men and and women don't have any kind of respect, and aren't worth messing with.

Girls use the fake number ploy very often, and I'm pretty certain that it was on purpose. Sadly, she's probably just not into you. The only way this was an accident was if she was giving you a home phone number and she's recently moved, but I'm guessing this was a cell number. If I were you I would just move on. Don't bother asking her for the number, or even talking to her again. She probably isn't worth it, and there are many other girls out there who will care for you much more than she did! Good luck!

some women do that to get rid of guys they arent interested in , like if they are out at a club. It gets rid of the guy without offending him in person.
If you see the girl often then it may be the same thing but its stupid of her and mean. If it makes you feel better just tell her you tried the number and it didnt work, give her a chance to explain, then say you would understand if shes not interested but giving you a fake number was just mean of her, and walk away. If it was an accident she can tell you that it was a mistake.

i've done that before...by accident! just let her know it didn't work and if she's all thats strange and walks off, you know she did it on purpose, if she says thats strange and gives you another one and it doesnt work again or the number is totally different to the first one, she did it on purpose. If she gives you a similar number and it works, and you get her house, it was an accident. Sometimes by seeing you actually care, if she did it on purpose she'll change her mind and give you a totally different, but real one. Good Luck, I hope for your sake it was an accident!!

* Because it was not an existing number most likely she gave you the wrong number. Do you really want to open yourself up to rejection again? It's up to you.
If she asks why you haven't called then you will know it was a mistake.

She's either an idiot or she did it on purpose.
And it's not like you want to go up to her and say "um, nancy, I um called um this number and um, you gave me the wrong one", right?
I'd blow her off and chalk it up to Typical Dating.....
BUT, if you want to "get back" at her, and kinda put her on the spot, which is what I would do (if it were a guy, cuz munya don't antonella that way), I'd say "Hey, nancy--why'd you give me this telelphone number, either you're completely stupid or youre an ignorant *****--which one is it, skank?" And then throw the paper in her lying "thinks shes too good for you" face.
you have my sympathies...I used to give guys the telephone number of the morgue.

Speaking from experience, she probably did it because she have difficulty saying no or she's not interested. And if she is then she will come to you as ask why you havent called.
Plus, who forgets their own phone number.
Srry about that better luck next time.

She probally was afraid to tell you no, so she made up a phone number on the top of her head.
