As a former 11b paratrooper I would say go infantry, airborne, ranger school and then go strait to ocs, or do a tour in Iraq and then go to ocs. Learn to eat strange **** for ranger school... bugs, worms... etc. You'll have to cover a lot of ground with no food.

Huh? Army Vs Navy? Are you kidding? The Army's idea of "special forces" is to be an army of one in a crowd of hundreds of thousands... To explain, look how many "Spec.Op." guys there are in the Army. Several thousand on any given base... Now, look at the Navy. At best, there are several hundred, world wide. I've worked with both as well as Marine Recon and the Air Force PJs. I've a lot of respect for both of those outfits, but still, Navy SEALs are the cream of the crop.
So, what's this garbage about enlisting? If you have a degree, be an officer, be a leader among men and get both the pay and priviledge that accompany that postion. Trust me, I was an enlisted for over twenty years, life is truly a whole lot better on the officer side of the house. The trade off is essentially this, as an enlisted, you can repeatedly screw things up and it won't really cost you anything. As an officer, you'll be held to a much higher standard and rpeated screw ups won't be tolerated or conducive to a lengthy career. So, you can live in a barracks room with three other guys and make a pay check that would be rejected by most on wellfare, or, you can live in the Q, possibly have a room-mate and make about twice as much as those who work for you.

Good for you! Know that in order to be an officer, you need a 4 year degree. You might also want to consider where your boot camp would be (ex Navy, Great Lakes, IL) and the time of the year you'll be there (winter???). IMHO, I'd say Navy!

Join the National Guard. They will pay for your college. You can go to OCS or do ROTC. Then go active duty if you want. My state has a $20,000 signing bonus.

Finish your degree. You will be an officer. Attend all the training immediately after you join. You will be glad you did.

Join up after the 2008 presidential election, and only if a democrat (peacemaker) wins. If a republican (warmonger) wins, we're all going to hell in a handbasket, matey!
