there could be many reasons: one could be population control or to let us know who is really in control.
There are dozens of reasons but who knows but G-d

We tend to focus on the negative aspects of things such as 9-11, disease and poverty. God can look at these things in two ways. First off, our sin and our rebellion towards His Holy Word causes us all the pain and suffering we experience in this world.
If we choose to reject Gods teachings, then we suffer the consequences. God can also use things like 9-11 to wake up a nation that is in rebellion towards Him. God did not allow this to happen, God said these things would happen if we turned against Him. It is our choice. God allows us the freedom of choice to accept Him or reject Him.
God also knows that many people pray the sinners prayer and become Born Again because of catastrophies. If the world were perfect, far less people would feel the need for a Savior.
God allows us to kick Him out of our schools, homes, countries, governments etc. We tell Him to "Get Out" and He graciously does as we ask Him. However, when God does leave, He takes His blessings and protection with Him.
Look at the condition of our schools: 25 years ago, we never turned on the NEWS and heard about teachers molesting students on a daily basis like we do today. Or we never heard about school shootings like we do today.
25 years ago we still accepted Christ Jesus in our schools, it was only when we told Him to "Get Out" that we started seeing another force take over our schools. When God left our schools, a spiritual vacuum (Void) was created and other spiritual beings, who were once kept from entering our schools by Gods protection, were now free to control our schools.
These demonic beings have turned our schools into a killing zone and perversion abounds.
God hates when we reject Him. He knows the outcome of our actions but He will not force Himself on any society or individual.
God Bless You....Peace.

Yes, why are there so many starving people in our world?
Look out at our world and notice that millions of children are dying of starvation. It really is horrific. Why would God be worried about you getting a raise, while at the same time ignoring the prayers of these desperate, innocent little children? It really doesn't make any sense, does it? Why would a loving god do this?
To explain it, you have to come up with some sort of very strange excuse for God. Like, "God wants these children to suffer and die for some divine, mysterious reason." Then you push it out of your mind because it absolutely does not fit with your view of a loving, caring God.
Makes you think hey

Because God has different priorities from humans.
He gave us intelligence to overcome illness and misfortune and indeed some of us use our intellect to do just that.
He has told us about cause and effect. For example
It's up to us to remember that smoking does cause cancers.
Has that stopped us from smoking? No.
We insist on practices that harm our health.
As to why has 9/11 happened ? We must all take some responsibility for it. And indeed we humans pay collectively for human kind's folly and mistakes.
The problems with Islam started almost 1000 years ago and we are still paying the consequences.
I hear you say: Hang on I'm not responsible for those, and I say we are all responsible for each other and to each other.
So If I knew God's mind (which I don't) I'd say: Don't find fault, find a solution.

When you are in kindergarten, do you want someone walking into your classroom and telling you all about human sexuality, including the reproductive systems, the physical biological emotional aspects of which you have no capacity to understand at the stage of development you are at, and whose learning would only interefere with the process of development to which you are at?
Or do you want someone to hand you a box of crayons and tell you to draw tigers and pandas, even if they are blue or purple-pink in color, and tell you that the answers will come soon enough? Not every question has an answer that you have the capability to understand at this time.

Hello. I am a Roman Catholic. Let me tell you. God does not make these things happen. I believe if the cancer or other diseases were from God, God wants us to draw closer to him in everday prayer and pray to him to heal us. Sometimes God let us have a disease or something so we would draw closer to him through prayer. I learned that in EWTN. It strangthens us as a person.

There is no really good answer to this question but you have to understand that God gives everyone freedom to choose if they are going to do bad or good. I think that he might let ( not cause) people to die of cancer because it might have some good outcome like help one of the relatives to become stronger.

I think God lets things happen because it is to test our faith, to see if we are worthy of Him. 9/11 was caused by man. And maybe all the bad things that happen in this world are caused by Satan the devil, ever think of that?

This existence is the death God warned Adam and Eve about,... this is the place the soul gains the knowledge of Good and Evil.

Because He isn't down here micromanaging our lives. Diseases come from Satan, and are a product of the Fall. 911 happened because Man without Christ Jesus is inherently Evil.

Sura - 67 Kingship (Al-Mulk)
Order Of Revelation 77, Verses: 30
[67:0] In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
[67:1] Most exalted is the One in whose hands is all kingship, and He is Omnipotent.
The Purpose of Our Life*
[67:2] The One who created death and life for the purpose of distinguishing those among you who would do better. He is the Almighty, the Forgiving.
[67:3] He created seven universes in layers. You do not see any imperfection in the creation by the Most Gracious. Keep looking; do you see any flaw?
[67:4] Look again and again; your eyes will come back stumped and conquered.
[67:5] We adorned the lowest universe with lamps, and guarded its borders with projectiles against the devils; we prepared for them a retribution in Hell.
[67:6] For those who disbelieved in their Lord, the retribution of Gehenna/Hell. What a miserable destiny.
[67:7] When they get thrown therein, they hear its furor as it fumes.
[67:8] It almost explodes from rage. Whenever a group is thrown therein, its guards would ask them, "Did you not receive a warner?"
[67:9] They would answer, "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we disbelieved and said, `GOD did not reveal anything. You are totally astray.' "
[67:10] They also say, "If we heard or understood, we would not be among the dwellers of Hell!"
[67:11] Thus, they confessed their sins. Woe to the dwellers of Hell.
[67:12] As for those who reverence their Lord, when alone in their privacy, they have attained forgiveness and a great recompense.
