I'm doing some long distance runs (eventually a mararthon) and I want a good shoe at a good price. Anybody use the Asics 766??

I've been running for 15 years; my first were swayed by what looked cool (hey, it was high school...) and I eventually found Asics to be the greatest shoes. I don't have any problems with my feet; although I do pronate a bit, but these are a nice comfortable, supportive and durable shoe from the get go (breaking them in is almost not needed...) I also was training for a marathon until I discovered I was pregnant and was doing up to 15 miles for my longer runs. The shoes were great and I had no problems with blistering, pains, etc. I don't have Asics 766; I have Asics OT-2110. They come in mens as well as womans. Here is the product description:

A technical running shoe designed for the runner seeking the optimal blend of cushioning, support and overall comfort. SpEVA midsole offers increased shock attenuation and durability. I.G.S. (Impact Guidance System) encourages natural gait while allowing for natural foot movement from heel strike to toe-off. Heel and forefoot GEL Cushioning Systems. DuoMax medial post maintains proper support. Dual-density DuoTruss System links rearfoot and forefoot and provides midfoot support. Combination DuoSole and DuraSponge outsole with AHAR heel plug add flexibility and durability. Wt. 12.0 oz.

Like I said- I absolutely love mine and actually have two pairs. I highly recommend them. Good luck with your training!!
