Why do some christians keep asking for proof of evolution?

Is it because they never went to a proper school?

There is some 150-years of post-Darwin cross-discipline research, experimentation and evidence. You would know this if you only put that one book you like to quote so much away for a minute and study up.

I finally came around to believing in a common ancestor. But tonight I'm hearing we came from rocks and that's just a little too far-fetched.
Even if we do come from a common ancestor that doesn't change my faith in the Bible. A lot of it is allegorical. God, the Great Scientist could have made us any way He wanted.

Hmmm, there is definitely a lot of evolution and adaptation within a species going on (those famous finches), but I still have my doubts when it comes to 'macro-evolution' or one species evolving into another kind of animal.

I know the theories behind evolution and they make a lot of sense on the surface. Small changes add up over time, the useless or harmful ones get weeded out and the beneficial ones are passed on. The problem is, once it gets down to the micro-biological level the theory starts to fall apart. The popular book is 'Darwin's Black Box' (by Thomas Behe I believe). The idea that an eye could evolve from a simple photo-receptor through stages makes sense (photo-receptor, multiple receptors, multiple receptors in a cup shape, a lens over the cup shape, etc) until your realize the very complex biological reactions that each facet requires. And if you miss any of those tiny little details then the entire system falls apart and is useless. (Is that studied up enough for you?)

If you have any resources that demonstrates evolution on a cellular or chemical level I'd love to read them. I'm always looking for more science.

They need proof of evolution. Yet, when you ask for proof of god, they provide the generic response "it's all about faith". Well evolution isn't about faith, because it is easily viewed throughout time. The fossil record is an excellent source for proof of evolution. Although, many religious fanatics will say that satan put those fossils there to trick us. Sounds crazy, and it is.
The fact that we no longer need our appendix is proof of evolution. I love when people, with no college education, tell me there is no proof of evolution. Somehow I doubt Chris Raleigh, a 15 year old, can disprove the science of evolution. The best scientists of the world have been studying and unraveling evolution for well over 100 years, but Mr. Raleigh has all the answers.

Their Shouters tells them it just isn't so. They think they'll go to their Hell if they don't believe everything their Shouters tells them. Their Shouters even have them afraid to read Darwin's book on the subject.

I've just got to add this; the Christian Bible has the same verity as Darwin's work. Therefor, I would start calling the Christians' belief the theory of Jesus, since they believe the facts have to be absolutely proven before the qualifier theory could be dropped from the labelling.

Not necessarily. I think that for those who consider themselves to be "at war" with science, this is a tactical measure -- using the language of science to put scientists on the defensive.

I believe in creation but humans developed the concept of time so God could have made things evolve in His time....just a theory like evolution

becuase there is none, its just a theory. and how can you be sure what u read on those sites is true. I could say that too and you could use my site as evidence but what does that prove?

Well, I however am stupid enough to take evolution head on. Evolution is one of the easiest theories to disprove. Even I who is only fifteen can disprove it. It is simple first grade stuff to disprove... and i love to argue with it all of the time..... It is so fun.
