at school my bf acts like a jacka**, like yesterday was my bdayy and my friend was like "you know its her bday" and he said "i dont care if its her bday" and walked away and he always pushes me at school. all my friends say i should dump him but whenever we aren't at school hes extremely nice, like the nicest person. he did say happy bday like 3 times and at night he called and said he hoped i had a happy bday. should i dump him or not?

he called you for your birthday and said happy birthday 3 times? and that's okay with you?
girl, evaluate your self-worth. do you think you deserve better than this? why is he only nice when you're alone? that tells me that he has alterior motives and is comfortable with the relationship because he thinks you're not going to dump him. that's exactly why you should.
honestly, if he had to say he hoped you had a good birthday, that lets me know he had nothing to do with what you did that day. and that's sad. he's taking you for granted. and you sound young, so you want to start off on the right foot, knowing what you want in a guy, what makes you feel good, and knowing when someone isn't good for you.

Sounds like this guy does not want to be associated with you in public. It may help to let him know that you have noticed this and ask him why. Still, it seems to me that all the explanations in the world may not be enough to make such a relationship work. If he really cares about you, he should be proud of you and not try to embarass you. It depends on whether you respect yourself or not.
If you respect yourself and think you matter, you have to have a standard. That standard includes respecting you all the time and not being embarassed to be seen being nice to you.

He's an abusive boy friend waiting to happen. Best present to yourself is to dump him.

hard one. your bf should act like a bf all the time, not just when you two are alone. you should talk to him, and let him know that you dont like how he treats you in front of people. hear what he says. if he continues to mistreat you and act like an idiot in front of people when you are around, then dump him. you are his girlfriend and he should treat u with the proper respect.

what is it that you want to do? sounds to me like he's affaid to show you in school what you mean to him but when you guys are alone he's a different person. i guess you would have to decide for your self or go with your instinct. i know i wouldn't put up with his actions when around other people!!

he has issues, maybe doesn't like the world to know he's nice to you, wants to look like he's in control in your relationship. dump him, plenty of mature confident guys out there.
